MANITOBA

October 10, 11, 12 consisted of driving!  We left London, Ontario and drove over to Sarnia where we crossed the US border into Michigan.  We drove to Kalamazoo where we stopped for some Target shopping the then the Olive Garden for supper before driving another 45mins to a KOA for the night.  The next day we headed South along Lake Michigan to the North West corner of Indiana and on through Chicago, Illinois and up through the South West corner of Wisconsin and on to Minneapolis, Minnesota where we found another KOA for the night.  The next day was up to Fargo, North Dakota and on up through Grand Forks to the Canadian border and on to Winnipeg where we were looking for a walk-in clinic out by the mint because we were wanting to go to the mint in the morning.  We had got a call from the doctor Kent saw in Niagara Falls when we were driving through Chicago and he informed us Kent's lab results came back and the medication he had put Kent on was not the correct on and we needed to see another doctor to get the correct prescription.  Poor Kent he has been battling this infection for close to two weeks now.  We made it to a clinic by 7:15pm just missing the doctor by 15mins so we found a Wal-Mart close by and parked the motor home and walked to Earls for a nice supper.

After Kent had his new prescription we headed off to the Royal Canadian Mint where we had a very informative tour of the mint.  This mint was the first mint to produce a colored coin and not only do they produce Canadian coins here, they also make coins for a 100 other countries.  From here we headed into downtown Winnipeg where we drove past the Manitoba Legislative buildings and Fort Garry Hotel on our way to the Forks.  The Forks are similar to Granville Island with an indoor market of local artisan crafts, food and buskers.  We had a bite of lunch here and then walked around the grounds before heading over to Assiniboine Park which we just drove through before heading out of town and up to Tim and Adele's for the night.
