HOMEWARD BOUND AND FAMILY TIME

Friday, October 14 we had a very nice evening with the Pizzey's and Uncle Garth and Auntie Annabelle, Darren and his children where out as well so we were lucky enough to have sometime with them all.  Our evening and morning together was brief but we stretched both out as long as we could.  Then is was westward bound once again and on to Mom and Dad's 'farm'.  We made it in the late afternoon with time to help mom put the finishing touches on her supper for the Manary family who were out to see their dad's home country of Smeaton.  We had a nice evening with them followed by a great weekend on the farm with Grandpa and Grandma and Uncle Joe.  The girls got to ride the motorbike and quad and helped Grandpa and Dad (Kent) with a few outdoor jobs that needed to be completed before winter sets in.  It is always fun being at Grandpa and Grandma's and the girls had a great time trying to catch one of the wild kittens, running around outside and having lots of space inside to play.  We left the farm on Tuesday, October 18 to have the evening in Saskatoon with Grandpa.  We went to the Samari for supper and enjoyed a walk down by the river and a drive through the university grounds before returning to the condo for the night.  Wednesday we met Amanda Johnson for a coffee and lovely visit before making our way over to Edmonton for the Wednesday night meeting.

We had a grand time with the Lysons family, as usual.  Thursday the girls went to school for the afternoon with their cousins and then we went shopping for Halloween costumes.  Friday the kids all stayed home from school and we went to the West Edmonton Mall for the day.  We had a lot of fun on the rides at Galaxyland and got to watch the sea lion show and shop - pretty much a perfect day. :)  Saturday was a fun day hanging out around the house with the weather being nice enough that the kids spent most of the day outside and Anita and I went for a walk with the dogs and Angie and Tessa.  It was nice to see Angie and Tessa.  We had a lovely brunch followed by a wiener roast for lunch and a great turkey dinner (we had missed Thanksgiving so we were very glad for the turkey supper). The kids were all excited about taking our girls on a haunted hike set up in the community so after supper we headed into Sherwood Park to catch the bus out to the hike.  It was a lot of fun.  Sunday morning we had a lovely meeting at the West's and a quick lunch and hit the road for our final home stretch.  The sky is nice and clear and the mountains our magnificent.
